Selling Privately?

Thinking of selling your property but do not want to use an agent? Think you can do a better job yourself and save the commission?

Chances are you cannot. A lot of people think they can sell there own property quickly and easily and in the process save on the agents commission. The truth of the matter is this generally does not work out. It has always puzzled me why people think they can sell their own house better than an agent. I mean would you try to fix your own car rather than use a mechanic? Would prescribe your own medication instead of seeing a doctor? Then why would you try to sell your most valuable asset yourself?

The reasons to use an agent are simple. They have years of experience in selling property, they know how to market the property and they all of the contacts. Sure they charge a commission but they earn every penny of it. They work long hours deal with all property enquiries, viewings, organise all the marketing and are available at all hours to answer your questions.

Real estate agents can also get your property exposure that you cannot get yourself – on all of the major real estate websites including reiwa.com, domain.com.au and realestate.com.au. As a private seller you cannot get onto these websites. Sure you can get onto to some private seller websites but these are small websites, were very few people look on. The key to selling real estate is getting exposure for your property. Exposure leads to people seeing the property and the more people that see the property, the more chance you have of selling it.

So if you are thinking of selling make sure you use an agent. It will ensure you get a smooth, quick and hassle free real estate transaction.
